Authorities apprehend 11 pimps for sex crimes in Colorado

Colorado officials say that 18 kids were retrieved and nearly a dozen alleged pimps were taken into custody after an intensive investigation into area child sex trafficking. This endeavor was part of a national effort that led to the recovery of more than 160 children and the apprehension of 281 accused pimps nationwide. Two of the alleged Colorado offenders were arrested in Aurora. Both of those men, ages 19 and 20, are accused of sex crimes including pimping a child.

Denver marijuana shops dealing with burglary concerns

With the sale of recreational marijuana legal in the Denver area, those who run local pot stores are worried about burglaries and robberies. According to stats from Denver's Department of Safety, this year is on pace to be the lowest, in terms of burglaries and robberies in three years. However, this does not change the fact that those who own and work at these establishments are concerned.

Alleged stoned driver in Colorado was also really drunk

Colorado had just approved legal marijuana when a driver who was allegedly stoned while behind the wheel crashed into two police cars. Both cars were parked at an exit ramp. Both of them had their lights flashing. The driver slammed into them anyway and was subsequently arrested.

Detective arrested for domestic violence after shooting house

A Denver police officer is facing serious criminal allegations after he apparently discharged a firearm inside his home. Official reports show that the man, age 42, is accused of domestic violence, child abuse and weapons violations, among other offenses. He allegedly shot his own ceiling six times. He told authorities that he had been popping bubble wrap. However, spent bullets and shell casings were found on the floor of the man's home.

John Elway’s son accused of assault in Colorado

John Elway is one of the greatest National Football League quarterbacks of all time. While his 24-year-old son was unable to follow in his father's footsteps on the football field, he has found himself in the news nonetheless. Recently, the younger Elway was arrested in Colorado for suspicion of assault against a woman believed to be his girlfriend.

Drunk drivers in Colorado often have no licenses

Recent reports indicate that many people who are arrested for drunk driving also do not have valid driver's licenses. When looking at data spanning just the previous two years, it was found that about 25 percent of the drivers who were arrested for DUI charges fell into this category. In fact, many of these drivers had gotten a DUI in the past, which is why they had been stripped on their licenses.
