Colorado recognizes valid concealed carry permits from the majority of states because we have reciprocal agreements with them. For example, you must be a resident of that state and have a valid driver’s license or other state ID from there. You also must be at least 21-years-old.

Note that these states whose permits are recognized can change at any time. Reciprocity is based on whether another state recognizes valid Colorado Concealed Handgun Permits (CHPs).

Can you carry a concealed handgun on campus?

The regulations for carrying a concealed handgun on a college or university campus vary by school. It’s essential to know and follow those regulations as well.

For example, at the University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder), those with a valid permit can carry a concealed handgun in most places on campus. However, weapons are not permitted in residence halls, and concealed guns aren’t allowed in a “special events zone.” That typically includes any ticketed event such as a concert or game.
